There are tons of sites/ blogs out there that will tell you what to expect when you go bridal shopping for the perfect dress. However, none of the them will tell exactly what to expect when you shop at Love & Lace.
Love & Lace is an experience. We take care of our brides from the moment they even make their appointment on the phone with us, or online. The whole reason Love & Lace came to be was to give brides a unique experience where they could have exceptional service, unique gowns, and the perfect moment of saying “yes!” How exciting right?! We are here to be a confidant, a truthful friend, and a mentor should you need it.
So what is a step by step process like when shopping here? Well, we do think every bride is different and unique, so a lot of our appointments never start the exact same way, but here is a guideline of what you can expect.
From the moment you walk in you have free rain over the shop room, where you will find unique gowns from designers like Karen Willis Holmes, Truvelle, and Daughters of Simone. Bohemian, classic, romantic, flowy, fitted, strapless, sleeves, and detailed backs are all here. The shop is gorgeous, full of light, and smells quite divine!
Your stylist will immediately greet you and offer you some bubbly if you so desire for you and all your entourage! Once hi’s and hellos have been exchanged, your stylist will begin by asking you a few questions about your special day like where your venue is, what style do you have in mind, and if you’ve tried on dresses before. Giving your stylist even the smallest of hints as to what you are thinking in terms of your dress is super helpful! And don’t be afraid to tell us what you don’t like, but do remember to keep an open mind.
Once all the greet and meet and questions have been asked, your stylist will walk you through our gowns all the while giving you ideas on what might be best for you, and gladly taking each of the dresses you would like to try on into your personal dressing room. *Normally, we will have time for about 6-7 dresses, perhaps more!
Then once we are excited and giddy about the gowns we have chosen to try on, you and your stylist will head into the dressing room as your stylist will help you into your dress. Our gowns are sample sizes, so a little clamping, fitting the dress to you will need to be done before the grand reveal to your party waiting on our (really comfy) high back lounge couches and chairs. Voila!

-A strapless bra if you like
-Heels to give you height
-Perhaps a clip for putting up your hair
You will come out, stand in front of the mirror and see how the quality of the design and style fit with your image of what you want to be wearing when you walk down the aisle to your honey. After a moment of oohs! and ahhs!, your stylist will ask you what it is that you are liking about the gown and perhaps what you aren’t so keen to. She may offer remedies on certain details that you may not like, but keep in mind the overall look. Focus on shape and style. Do you like having a fitted bodice to the natural waist and then having the skirt delicately flow out, or perhaps something fitted all the way is more your speed? Let your stylist know, and she’d be happy to help! And based off of what you are liking and what you do not, she will make suggestions to help find that perfect dress!
Trying on gowns is fun and exciting! And really thinking about and envisioning your special day, walking down the aisle in this dress, will help you make that wonderful decision! We are here to guide you, give you suggestions, and help you into the THE dress! Once you have decided on the gown for you, there are cheers and congratulations of course! We will then take measurements, do a little paperwork, and place the order for your dream dress!
