This month, we visited Golden State Cabin near Big Bear Lake. This AirBnB cabin is a perfectly private space set amid stunning scenery. Rather than detract from our Love and Lace bride Tori and her groom Jason, the scenery and casual atmosphere play a supporting role in this California winter wedding shoot.
A CALIFORNIA WINTER WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT:
Winter Romance Abounds
This setting places the focus squarely on the couple – as any fantastic wedding does. The muted winter hues and early-setting sun add a touch of romance to the beachside shots and evoke a feeling of nostalgia that are not out of place in old town Big Bear Lake. The sweet winter bouquet by Rosa’s Flower in San Fernando is both classic and casual. A few light pink and yellow roses stand out against a backdrop of white and deep green for a bouquet that enhances the dress, rather than draws attention from it.
Speaking of the dress, Tori is wearing Dawson by Dear Heart Bride. Dear Heart Bride is known for catering to independent women with strong convictions and creating modern designs that draw on the past. Dawson is a full-skirted dress that features an Italian floral cloque that is exclusive to Dear Heart. The fitted bodice and deep V’s in both the front and the back may be a classic style, but this dress adds a modern touch – pockets!
Dawson was the perfect dress for Tori and this California winter wedding shoot. The ambiance was such that it aligned perfectly with Dear Heart’s “rough and tumble wanderlust” and “Old Soul” design philosophies. The vendors on this stylized photo shoot pulled out all the stops to create a set of images that highlight just how unique and beautiful a wedding can be – in any setting, with any number of people, and at any time of year.
Most of all, they have shown us that our local wedding vendors truly care about creating the perfect wedding for each client and they’ll go out of their way to do so, even when circumstances have changed what the “perfect wedding” can look like.
