Our Bridal Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need an appointment to try on gowns?
Yes, we do run by appointment only to try on gowns/accessories, and do not allow walk-ins. We recommend reviewing the available appointments and seeing which works best for your specific wants and needs.
Q. What’s your price point?
Our price point ranges from $ 3,000 to $ 5,000, with the majority in the $ 3,000s. Our “off-the-rack” gowns range from $ 1,500 to $ 2,500.
Q. How far in advance should I begin shopping for my gown?
We recommend that brides begin their search 10-12 months before their wedding date. This accounts for the production time of your gown (6-8 months) and alterations (2-3 months). We can’t stress enough how much peace of mind comes with buying with plenty of time, and we strongly encourage you to take that into consideration when making your decision!
Q. How many guests are allowed to join me during an appointment?
We allow up to 6-7 guests to join a bride during her appointment. We love being able to provide our brides with a personal and intimate experience at our salon, and we have found that more guests can cause confusion and disruption on the bride’s special day. We encourage brides to bring those who will uplift them and listen to their wants and needs.
Please note: We do NOT allow any body shaming during our appointments and will not tolerate negative and hateful comments towards brides from their guests.
Q. Do you offer alterations?
We do not offer alterations or tailoring for gowns, but we do provide a list of locally recommended seamstresses who have worked on our gowns. The seamstresses we recommend have asked for 2-3 months for tailoring and have advised budgeting around $500-$900.
Q. Do you allow children to join in on appointments?
We do not allow children under the age of 10.
Q. How long does it take to receive my gown?
The average time for gown production is 7 months, but it depends on the designer (some may be a month earlier or later). If timing is tight, no worries, we are happy to rush a gown with the designer to ensure a quicker arrival date. Please note that rush fees vary by designer.
Q. Do you allow champagne at the salon?
This is another of our frequently asked questions! By law, California does NOT allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages in our type of business. We will gladly serve you and your guests water or sparkling water, and there is an amazing restaurant next door where our brides can celebrate afterward!
Regarding other refreshments, please do NOT bring in coffee, as spills are bound to happen, and we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our salon. Absolutely NO food of any kind allowed in the salon. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Q. Do you allow browsing or pulling of gowns?
As one of our most frequently asked questions, we like to clarify that we have a strict no-browsing policy to ensure the quality of our gowns remains pristine for all our brides. If you’d like to see all the gowns available, we recommend checking out our designer highlights on Instagram or our “Gown Gallery” on the website. Our stylists are highly trained to pull gowns based on the bride’s wants/needs, budget, and size.
Q. What size gowns are available to try on?
This is another of our frequently asked questions! Our sample gowns range from bridal sizes 10 to 12 and extended sizes from 16 to 22.
Q. What accessories do you offer, and what are their price ranges?
We offer a great selection of veils. Price depends on the length of the veil and any extra embellishments, such as lace, sparkles, or pearls, and ranges from $250-$900. We have a curated selection of belts, earrings, wings, and hairpins. We do not offer traditional tiaras or crowns.
Q. What should I bring to my appointment?
We highly recommend bringing photos of inspiration you’ve seen from our Instagram/Pinterest so that our stylist can understand the aesthetic you were leaning towards; this is a great starting point that gives us direction.
We recommend wearing nude underwear and sticky cups, although most brides go braless, as we have bra cups. We don’t feel shape wear is necessary as you are perfect just as you are – but if you find you’ll feel more comfortable, then you’re more than welcome to bring them.
Heels are not necessary, as our gowns are all floor-length and we want to avoid any slips and falls, but if you feel you absolutely need them, bring them along. Bringing a hair tie or clip to pull up your hair is also super helpful.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
Please note our appointment & cancellation policies:
Reservation Fees: All booking fees are completely non-refundable but may be credited toward your dress if you purchase your wedding gown during your appointment!
No-Show Fee: Missing your appointment (excluding gown pickups) will incur an additional $50 charge to the card on file.
Accessory Appointments: Free to book, but canceling within 72 hours or missing your session results in a $40 charge.
Q. I ordered my gown with Love and Lace. Will I get updates on my gown’s arrival?
We always discuss with you when your gown will arrive after you purchase it. Once it arrives, we will reach out via email, but we will not be updating regularly. Our motto: “No news is good news.” The gown will arrive as promised; if there are any delays, we will, of course, reach out to inform the bride as soon as possible.
Q. Is it normal to purchase your gown at the first appointment?
It is COMPLETELY NORMAL to purchase your gown at your first stop. We recommend focusing on how you feel during your shopping experience. There is no right or wrong way of saying yes; we just ask that you be true to yourself and follow your heart. A confident bride is a happy bride! Don’t Stress, Buy the Dress!
