If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be?
“Grace upon grace”: God has lavished so much grace and mercy over my life through the years. I grew up the youngest of 9 kids—first generation—as my parents immigrated from an oppressive, communist Romania (my dad was actually imprisoned for fleeing the country). We grew up poor, squished in a two bedroom home for quite some time, all the while my parents worked to try and make a living and name for us. They are incredibly successful and blessed today, married for 35 years and constantly loving us. I, myself, have battled a chronic neurological condition, where at one point I was fighting for breath on life support. God healed me and allowed to have two beautiful and healthy babies, despite being on high doses of meds. On top of that, I have an amazing and supportive husband. I am a product of God’s faithfulness and goodness.
If you could shop in any celebrity’s closet, who would it be?
Definitely Jen Aniston! I love her simplicity and timeless looks. She makes everything look so effortless. Give me a white tee and jeans and I am good to go.
What topic could you give a 20-minute presentation on with no preparation?
Do recipes count? I can make killer chocolate chip cookies and probably kill a presentation on how to make them, haha.
How long do you try putting together IKEA furniture before giving up/phoning a friend?
So I have been endowed with the gift of handi-ness sooo I don’t call people for help—I just get it done. I want to. I need to. Let’s just say I put myself into labor at 38 weeks pregnant, putting together an IKEA dresser for our nursery. You can ask my husband. He lets me do all the manly work, ha!
What was the worst fashion trend you participated in?
It would be tied between low-rise jeans and really short mini-skirts in high school. I don’t even have to explain, you all know what I’m talking about. Like why? Why?
What is your enneagram? Do you agree with it?
I am a number 9 on the enneagram—the peacekeeper. I would say it is definitely accurate as I HATE confrontation and am a chronic people-pleaser. I am very adaptive to people and their preferences and try not to be opinionated (and can sometimes lose my backbone in the process, lol). I say sorry way too much to avoid offending or hurting people. And I can’t sleep at night if I know someone is upset with me. I just want everyone to be happy and drives me crazy when they are not!
Why bridal? Why do you do what you do?
Honestly, I got into it because I knew Ramona and one of my friends was working for her! HOWEVER, I fell in love with it and have been doing it for 4 years now. I love the women that I get to meet, the pretty dresses I get to put on them, and the way those dresses make them feel when they put them on. I feel honored to share in such a special and vulnerable moment in their lives.(There’s also nothing more exciting than when a new dress comes in, haha). And not gonna lie, the ladies I work with are pretty amazing!
